Chest Imaging Crash Course

This 2-hr online self study course is designed to equip physical therapists with knowledge and skills in understanding chest imaging modalities to enhance their clinical practice. The course will delve into the intricacies of chest radiography and other imaging modalities, focusing on musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and pulmonary conditions relevant to physical therapy practice. Throughout the course, participants will learn to recognize normal anatomical structures and devices and identify pathological findings in the chest region. Special emphasis will be placed on the specific differences in chest imaging including reading order, reading components, and views. Case examples will be used to address common pulmonary, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal conditions that may impact physical therapy management.

Cardiovascular Conditions in Athletes

THREE SKILL VIDEOS INCLUDED! This course will equip physical therapists with specialized knowledge and skills in addressing cardiovascular health concerns in athletes. Participants will explore the underlying anatomical and physiological systems impacted by elite training and then explore evidence-based strategies for preventing, identifying, and managing cardiovascular conditions in this population. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the cardiovascular system’s response to training and detraining, recognizing risk factors. Signs, and symptoms of cardiovascular events in athletes, and implementing appropriate preventive measures. Participants will also delve into the assessment and management of rare cardiovascular events encountered in athletes, including arrhythmias, myopathies, sudden cardiac death, and inherited conditions. Case examples will be used to discuss the role of the physical therapist in treatment, training, and emergency response.
